What I Learned  the Week of Jan. 27 – Feb. 2, 2014

Monday, Jan. 27, 2014

    • It’s hard to be a person sometimes.

  • The “law of attraction” isn’t going to manifest you the winning lottery ticket, no matter how perfectly you imagine it to happen. If you believe it will, you’re only setting yourself up to be disappointed.
  • The pilot episode of the original Star Trek series didn’t have Capt. Kirk. There was a Captain Pike who was way cuter than William Shatner! The episode was actually very good (available right now on Netflix). It seemed that the only actor that stayed on for the actual series was Leonard Nimoy as Mr. Spock.

  • Prominent cheeks means you are good at giving orders according to Jean Haner. (Not sure what my thoughts are with regards to this Chinese Face Reading thing, but I don’t have prominent cheeks and I suck at giving orders.)

    • You can burn/melt the bottom right out of your Ninja high speed food processing bowl.

  • We could go to Disney World in a couple of weeks to escape the cold for $2000 including everything but food. We’re not, but we could!
  • I’m tired of my hands, nose, lips and just about everything being so dry. (Thus the looking into the costs of a trip to Florida 😉 )

    • I learned the Peyote Stitch in bead class. It’s pretty cool and versatile!

Saturday, Feb. 1, 2014

  • How to add more thread to my peyote stitch bracelet so I could keep working on it. (I didn’t want to have to wait for the teacher to show me in the next class on Friday!)
  • We’re all on this Earth because we chose to be here, and I’m pretty sure we got to choose in advance what “level” we wanted to play this game of life at (just like a video game). My husband had proposed this theory to me many, many years ago. The more I learn about spirituality and based on what I have observed, I’m about 90% sure that this is exactly how it works.
